Dr Aadil bashir  is the former Head/ Coordinator and Senior Assistant Professor  in the Department with more than Sixteen years of  experience  of teaching and research at Post graduate level .Prior to joining the department, he has also worked with some of the reputed organizations on the  issues of children in the state.Dr Aadil has conducted research on some of key issues of the state sponsored by reputed national and international agencies. He has conducted first of its kind of study in the entire north on prevalence of Autism supported by ICMR. The research focused on the prevalence and the identification of social work interventional therapies. He has also conducted an extensive community based study on domestic violence in Kashmir supported by ICSSR .The prevalence in six districts and the factors associated with the problem have been explored. His latest area of research is focusing on mental health in Kashmir. The research is focusing on implementing/intervention research design in the severely conflict affected districts of Kashmir. Dr Aadil bashir has also evaluated some of the key projects sponsored by the national organizations like PFC, IGSSS, Ministry of drinking water and sanitation.

Dr Aadil teaches social work research ,Welfare Management to the post graduate students in the department of social work .He has also been teaching child Rights , health and social work . He also is a recognized research supervisor and continues to guide research scholars in the department. Aadil  bashir was also awarded NCRRF (National Child Rights Research fellowship ) in the year 2014-15 .
